The Department in a Nutshell:
- The Department is responsible for acquiring materials needed for successful functioning of all the departments and branch libraries of the system.
- The printed and non printed materials are ordered and purchased from different sources under the terms of the Public Purchase Act.
- The Department collects and processes materials.
- Since 1999 The Library electronic Computer Catalog has been compiled utilizing the software programme UNIKAT.
- In 2000 the software programme LIBIS has been installed. 49866 bibliographic entries have been submitted to LIBIS Joint Catalogue. The library’s documents have been taken stock.
- The Depository stock consists of 6264 items.
- The Book Exchange stock consists of 1051 items.
The Reserve Stock has been formed since 1998. Currently it consists of 1760 items. The stock is used to replenish departmental and branch collections.
