The Library in a Nutshell:
- It is the oldest library in the city, (founded in 1921), interesting origin, collects regional research works. Serves both adults and children.
- Lending, reading and internet reading rooms are at users’disposal.
- Collection: 36,000; subscribes to 11 titles of periodical publications.
- Annually: visitors - 29,400, borrowings - 49,900
- Readers’ service order is determined by the Library Regulations.
- The books are lent out under an automatic loan system.
- Search for information is performed at readers’ request.
- The Branch offers attractive meetings with contemporary writers, arranges original exhibitions.
- 9 computerized workstations, an access to internet and data bases is available. Instructions how to use internet and play computer games.(In Lithuanian only).
- Cooperates with Aukstabalio secondary and primary schools, kindergartens and day nursery homes. The stuff arrange exhibitions of children’s drawings.
- Accumulates both published and non published materials about Lieporiai microdistrict. (See systematic local-lore card-index which is annually supplemented by new entries) Cooperated with Lieporiai Community centre preparing a publication about the past of the Lieporiai.
Offers copying and printing services.
