The Library in a Nutshell:

  • Computerized Foreign Languages Reading Room was launched into operation in October 1999.
  • Access to internet and databases is available. 2 computerized workstations for users, a TV set, a video player. Instructions how to use internet and play computer games. (In Lithuanian only)
  • The Reading Room offers 1835 units of printed and non printed materials in 24 foreign languages (books, CD-ROMs, video cassettes and audiotapes).
  • The Reading Room is supplied with language study materials, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, fiction and branch science literature.
  • A valuable collection of English language materials and books on British culture, history and politics from ESU (English speaking union).
  • Encourages language self-study and instructs how to use different level computer programs.
  • Search for information is performed at readers’ request.
  • Subscribes to Lithuanian production newspapers and magazines in English.
  • Cooperates with Siauliai university students of English and schools of local community.

 

Offers copying and printing services.
