The Library in a Nutshell:
- Varsa Branch library was founded in 1970 in the historic Salduve microdistrict. It serves the inhabitants of Simse, Zokniai and Pabaliai. Offers services both to adults and children.
- Annually: visitors - 12,000, borrowings - 27,300.
- Users are served in a lending room, a reading room a minitoyroom and a minigallery “Varsyte”for individual art exhibitions.
- Collection Size - 16,400; subscribes to 11 titles of periodicals. The German encyclopaedia Brockhaus, 24 volumes, is available.
- Readers’ service order is determined by The Library Regulations.
- The books are lent out under an automatic loan system.
- There operates a public internet centre with 4 computerized workstations. Access to internet and databases is available. Instructions how to use internet and play computer games (In Lithuanian only/)
- The library cooperates with educational institutions, kindergartens and day nursery homes, organizes Play Days, Fairytale Hours.
- The club” Books for passers-by” arranges presentations of new books for children and adults, put forward for discussion children’s beloved books.
